Russian carrier UTair plans to add 20 ATR 72-500 aircraft to its fleet in the next 13 months, the first two of which arrived this month. It will use these aircraft on new routes and to provide more seats on existing routes, which range from the Baltic States to Eastern Siberia.
ATR plans to deliver two more 70-seat ATR 72-500s in May, followed by two more in June, July, October, November and December this year. The manufacturer plans to deliver the last six ATR 72s at a pace of one per month from January to June 2012. At that point, the carrier will operate 37 ATRs.
UTair operates a fleet of about 200 aircraft and brought the first ATR into Russia in 2006.
Nayak in Germany maintains UTair’s ATR fleet.
